LLANSANNAN booked their place in the NWCFA Junior Cup semi-final with a narrow 3-2 home triumph over Trearddur Bay Bulls.

The Vale of Clwyd and Conwy League Premier Division side were made to sweat late on before eventually seeing the game out against the one-time Gwynedd League title chasers, putting them within one game of a high-profile final appearance.

An imposing start from the home side saw them go ahead on 12 minutes when Euros Lloyd was presented with a chance, and he made no mistake with the finish to break the deadlock.

Their attacking prowess came to the fore once again soon after as Keiran Kendrick took advantage of some hesitant defending to double the hosts cushion with 18 on the clock.

The away side dusted themselves off and got themselves back into the game, but Liam Jones restored Sannan’s two-goal advantage late on with a well-taken finish with eight remaining.

Another goal from the visitors in the dying moments ensured a nervy end to proceedings, but the home side held on for a memorable cup triumph.

There was no such luck for Llysfaen, who were beaten 5-0 at home by all-conquering Bangor 1876.

Dafydd Thomas’ header on 39 minutes gave the away side a slender lead at the break, and they pulled further clear thanks to Thomas, an own goal, Jamie Petrie and Shaun Lock.

Abergele also reached the semi-final stages thanks to a thrilling 4-3 home win over Llangoed and District, with Menai Bridge Tigers rounding off the final four with a 2-1 victory at Talysarn Celts.
