CAERNARFON Town will face a familiar foe in a bit to reach the JD Welsh Cup final.

The Canaries’ have been pitted against JD Cymru Premier side Cardiff Met at the final four stage, which represents a good chance for the club to reach the final.

Huw Griffiths and Sean Eardley’s side will be looking to avenge last season’s Europa League Qualifying Playoff final defeat at the hands of the Archers, where they fell to a narrow 3-2 reverse in front of a bumper crowd at The Oval.

The Cofis’ beat their semi-final opponents 2-1 in a league fixture back in November on home soil, before losing 2-0 on their travels in January.

Prestatyn Town or Flint Town United, who play their quarter-final tonight (Tuesday) face the daunting task over overcoming defending top-flight champions The New Saints for a place in the showcase.

Neil Gibson’s men have got the best of United during their two league fixtures so far this season, winning 3-2 away and 1-0 at home to give them a comfortable cushion over their nearest promotion challengers.

Semi-final ties will be played over April 4-5.
