A MAN has appeared before magistrates and admitted beating a dog.
Jamie Dennis Gordon Hill, also known as Jamie Elsworthy, appeared at Poole Magistrates' Court on Wednesday (February 26).
He pleaded guilty to causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal, namely a dog, by throwing it against a wall, kicking it and hitting it.
This charge, under the Animal Welfare Act 2006, was brought after an incident at Woodend Road, Bournemouth, on April 14 last year.
The 40-year-old also admitted failing without reasonable cause to surrender to custody at Poole Magistrates' Court, having been released on bail in criminal proceedings at Bournemouth Police Station on June 30, last year.
Hill, of Grosvenor Gardens, Boscombe, Bournemouth, was bailed to reappear before Poole magistrates next month, to allow pre-sentence reports to be prepared.
