CROWDS braved the poor weather to attend a town's annual Potato Day over the weekend.
Dozens of people attended the Daniel Owen Centre on Saturday, February 15.
The potatoes were supplied by Matthew Smith of Brighter Blooms in Preston and he told the Leader this year was the 'most successful yet'.
Matthew supplied over 80 varieties of seed potato but also brought onion sets, garlic, vegetable and plant seeds, soft fruit and apple trees for selling on the day.
The event attracted allotment holders and gardeners from the local area and outside the area to include Cheshire, Shropshire and Wirral.
A spokesman for FlintShare added it was a 'successful year'.
The event was organised by FlintShare, a volunteer run social enterprise who produces organically grown food for and with its members and team of volunteers from were on hand to sell homemade cakes on the day.
FlintShare has three sites at Cilcain, Northop and on the Hawarden Food Shop site. If you are interested in joining FlintShare or finding out more please visit the website at www.flintshare.org
