A MINOR injuries hospital for Deeside will relieve pressure on A&E services, an Assembly Member has said.

Jack Sargeant AM for Alyn and Deeside, used a question in the Senedd to call for a minor injuries hospital for Deeside.

He said: "Can I start by saying thanking all the staff who work incredibly hard to deliver health care in north Wales.

"However it is clear we need a focus on improvement and that vision needs to come from the top.

"Minister, along with my north Wales Labour colleagues I have been raising issues of concern with you regularly and this is our number one topic of conversation.

"I will be looking to meet with the interim Chief Exec at the earliest opportunity and will be raising issues that constituents raise with me.

"Firstly Accident and Emergency services, the need for more minor injuries provision across Flintshire and one particular solution that I can see would be introducing the service at Deeside Hospital.

"Additionally I will be raising mental health services - at the moment Betsi do not live up to the moto that mental health services should be delivered with the same importance and urgency as physical health.

"And finally, I will be raising the structure of the health board."
