A NUMBER of homes around Connah’s Quay have been hit by an overnight and morning water shortage today (Wednesday) due to a burst main in the network.

Parts of Connah’s Quay High Street, Chester Road and Golftyn Lane are at the centre of the low water pressure issue, with several nearby streets also affected.

However, both Coleg Cambria and Golftyn Primary School have confirmed that they are not having any problems with their water supplies.

The issue was first reported to Welsh Water at around 7pm on Tuesday evening, with a team arriving in the area shortly after.

In a short statement on the issue, a spokesperson for the utility firm said: “We are aware of a burst on our network which is affecting the water supply to the area.

“Until the pipe is fixed, you may experience low pressure or no water. We expect all supplies to be fully restored in the early hours of Wednesday morning.”

It was expected that work to fix the burst pipe would be completed by 3am, but Welsh Water are currently still on hand trying to resolve the issue.
