ARE you keen for more theatrical magic following Theatr Clwyd's hilarious rock ‘n’ roll pantomime Jack and the Beanstalk?

The Mold-based theatre has announced its rock ‘n’ roll pantomime for 2020 is Beauty and the Beast.

Featuring a brand new script by Wales’ award-winning Christian Patterson (Jack and the Beanstalk – the Rock ‘n’ Roll Pantomine, Dick Whittington – The Purrrrrfect Rock ‘n’ Roll Pantomime) and directed for the first time by Theatr Clwyd’s artistic director Tamara Harvey, Beauty and the Beast will have everything audiences have come to expect from a Theatr Clwyd pantomime including brilliant comedy, stunning sets, bonkers frocks great live music and some extra special pantomime magic.

Tamara Harvey said: “I am delighted to be directing my first ever pantomime at Theatr Clwyd.

"It’s taken me four years to be brave enough to take on our panto – I do so now safe in the knowledge that directing it can’t be anywhere near as terrifying as donning a frock and being in it (which is what I had to do due to a cast injury back in 2018).

"Our youngest audience member at the panto this year was six weeks (as far as I know), our oldest was 96 years (and has seen every panto since he was six, apart from the war years) – I can’t wait to create a piece of laugh-out-loud, heartstopping, feet tapping theatrical magic that speaks to young and old and everyone in between.”

Christian Patterson said: “I am incredibly excited to be writing a third Rock’n’Roll panto for Theatr Clwyd...a theatre that I’ve been associated with and loved for over 20 years.

"I’m really looking forward to working with the wonderful Tamara Harvey and the rest of the team and delivering another Christmas Cracker guaranteed to put a smile on your face and have you twisting the night away.”
