POLICE are urging vigilance following a spate of burglaries in Wrexham.

Police said there were burglaries over the weekend in the Garden Village and Pentre Broughton areas.

There was also an attempted burglary in the Summerhill area, when a man, wearing a baseball cap, body warmer and checked shirt, stuck his hand through a letter box.

He was disturbed by a dog and the homeowner – and left with another man in a white Vivaro van, police said.

A spokesman for North Wales Police Wrexham Town urged residents to keep lights on when out and set an alarm, and to look out for suspicious activity around neighbouring properties if occupants are away.

If you spot suspicious activity, call police on 101.
