MOTORISTS experienced long delays after a car caught fire on the Puffin roundabout.
The car caused a multi vehicle collision on Sunday, January 26 from about 5.45pm near the end of the rumble lines - just before junction 16 heading East - at the roundabout near the Shell garage between Penmaenmawr and Dwygyfylchi.
Both lanes were closed for about one hour, with fire crews from Colwyn Bay and Llanfairfechan attending the incident. North Wales Police and Traffic Wales were also in attendance.
A spokesperson for North Wales Fire and Rescue said: "We were called at 5.50pm to a vehicle fire near Penmaenmawr.
"The fire was out on arrival and was caused by overheated components.
"Our crews made the vehicle electrically safe and there was five percent damage to the engine compartment."
After one of the lanes was opened to ease the congestion, both lanes were gain closed temporarily to recover four vehicles, reopening at about 8pm.
