A high school has donated over half a ton of food to Wrexham Foodbank after just a fortnight of collecting.
Darland High School, in Rossett, made a contribution of 541 kilograms of food on Tuesday after donations were made by staff, students and parents over the two-week period.
About the mountain of food that her school had collected, Darland High School assistant headteacher, Lisa Easton, said: "We're absolutely overwhelmed at the scale of the donation and the response we got from our students and parents in giving something back to the Wrexham community."
A grateful Sally Ellinson, project manager at the Wrexham Foodbank, added: “I’d like to offer a huge thank you to Darland High School for all of their support.
“It’s wonderful when schools collect for us over the harvest time, and their donation will help us to stock up over the months ahead and will allow us to continue serving those who come to us in need.
