THREE separate crashes on parts of a Flintshire expressway have caused rush hour delays this morning, Monday.

At least five vehicles have been involved in collisions on the A55 in Flintshire over three different incidents within the space of an hour.

The most recent incident involves one lane being closed and queueing traffic due an incident involving two vehicles as well as a broken-down vehicle from J32A (Pentre Halkyn) to J33 (Northop), eastbound.

It has resulted in lane two (of two) being closed as of 9.40am.

The first incident sparked delays after a three-vehicle crash during rush hour in Northop.

The exit slip road on the A55 expressway eastbound was partially blocked after a collision involving three vehicles.

It resulted in slow traffic at junction 33 Northop Road (A5119).

Traffic Wales reports that the incident occurred shortly before 8.40am, with the lanes cleared in around 15 minutes, just before 8.55am.

A second incident occurred on the westbound side of the expressway following a collision near J32 Holywell, however delays were minimal in this area according to traffic logs.

In a social media post alerting motorists of the delays, Traffic Wales said that a ‘strong glare from the sun’ is reported in the area and urged people to drive carefully.
