It's a condundrum faced by many working dog owners. You need to leave the house - but what about Rover?

Some breeds of dog are prone to separation anxiety. And many of us with dogs head home and night wondering which piece of furniture the pooch has chewed on today.

But help is on hand - Spotify has teamed up with the RSPCA to launch a podcast specifically for dogs left alone.

It's aim is to keep your pet company whilst you're out and features the voices of Call the Midwife’s Jessica Raine and Ralph Ineson, best known as Finchy from The Office.

The star-studded programme dogs is full of mindful affirmations and calming sounds, such as wind rustling through trees.

“I’d stay here and stroke you all day long if I could,” Ineson, 50, says in the podcast. He owns two dogs, a great Dane called Grayson and a black Labrador named Billie. “It makes me so happy to start the day off seeing your happy face,” he says.

The streaming service is also launching Pet Playlists, which will generate music based on the kind of thing you think your pet might like.

Seventy-one per cent of Spotify users with pets admitted to playing music for them.

What do you think? Will you be leaving Spotify on when you go out tomorrow?
