Councillors have raised concerns about speeding motorbikes in the Sandycroft area, leaving them to consider introducing speed bumps to tackle the issue.

Members of the Queensferry Community Council discussed the matter at a meeting on Tuesday.

It was said that the problem is of particular concern on the narrow Phoenix Street which is off Chester Road.

Speaking at the meeting, Councillor Graham Coppack addressed the issue, but warned that the humps could cause more harm than good in other parts of the county, but it is needed here.

The Queensferry ward councillor said: “There are speeding motorbikes who are taking no notice of the traffic or pedestrians around them and flying down Phoenix Street at around 50 miles per hour or so.

“Traffic is already an issue on the road."

Cllr Coppack added that speed bumps could slow traffic down and make it safer in Sandycroft.
