A HOLYWELL-born actor has been nominated for an Oscar Award.
It has been announced that Jonathan Pryce has been nominated for the ‘best actor’ Oscar for his role as Pope Francis in the film ‘The Two Popes’.
The 72-year-old star is up against Joaquin Phoenix for the ‘Joker’, Leonardo DiCaprio for ‘Once Upon A Time in Hollywood’, Antonio Banderas ‘Pain and Glory’, and Adam Driver ‘Marriage Story’.
Anthony Hopkins has been nominated for ‘Supporting Actor’ in the Two Popes film.

The film was released last year and tells the story of how behind the Vatican walls, conservative Pope Benedict and the liberal future Pope Francis must find common ground to forge a new path for the Catholic Church.
