NORTH Wales Police is urging people to remain vigilant following a number of burglaries in the Mold area.
Support Sgt Gill Lehrle, of the South Flintshire policing team, said they have received three reports of burglary dwellings in the last week.
She told the Leader: "These are all under investigation and allocated to officers progression.
"We are urging people to be mindful neighbours, especially the elderly ones, keep an eye on your neighbours property and report suspicious activity."
The support Sgt said that this is not unusual after Christmas, due to people leaving the boxes of expensive gifts on show outside.
She is encouraging residents to dispose of their rubbish with discretion and avoid advertising valuable possessions.
She added: "Make sure your windows and doors are locked and secure when you are going out and you can notify us if you are going away for temporary unoccupied property checks.
"Also leave your contact details in case you are needed.
"If you are going away, let someone know who is a trusted contact, they can keep an eye on your property and report any suspicious behaviour."
Anyone with information or concerns can contact North Wales Police on 101 or via the live webchat service.
Alternatively, information can be shared anonymously via Crime Stoppers 0800 555 111.
