A TEENAGER has organised a charity fundraiser at the pub she works at in memory of her grandmother who sadly passed away two years ago.

Bethany Rowe, 19, will be holding the charity fundraiser day for Macmillan at The Blossoms pub in her hometown of Bagillt on January 18.

She told the Leader that she has organised the event to raise money for the Macmillan charity who were so good to her and her family following the death of Margret Nelson on December 29, 2017.

Miss Rowe, who is a bartender at The Blossoms, said: “My grandma passed away two years ago from cancer, so this fundraiser is more of a thank you to Macmillan.

“They were really kind and helpful to us all during that difficult time, and hopefully we can repay that to them.

“I want to get the whole community together as well as raise money for a good cause. Hopefully we can raise somewhere around £500 with everything we have going on for people of all ages.

“Everyone is welcome, and it is all completely free as we’re hoping that people get stuck in and involved with the events on the day and give donations.”

The Leader:

The family friendly charity fundraiser at The Blossoms pub begins at 2pm with local schools and businesses setting up small stalls for guests.

There will also be a children’s play area for youngsters to enjoy, while a raffle will also be held for prizes that include a free cut and dry at the Goldilocks hair salon in Bagillt, an Avon beauty hamper, a homemade scented candle, and more.

Local musicians Dom Henderson and Sean Fenny will also be providing live music in the evening, with a charity leg waxing also taking place at 8pm.

Guests are being asked to bring any unwanted old clothes or toys to be donated to local charity shops in the area.
