A SERIES of road works are set to commence across Flintshire this month.

Since the turn of the year, maintenance work has already begun on six roads with a further four scheduled to start before the end of the week.

Thankfully, though, none of the work is expected to take too long with bridge repairs on the A5118 in Padeswood that begun on Monday due to take the most time with a planned completion date of January 30.

A day before that, long running work that started in mid-November on Boundary Lane in Saltney will be coming to an end after water utility works led to the introduction of temporary traffic lights to control traffic at the site.

Even longer ongoing work that began in mid-October is also expected to be completed this January, with the 17th marking the end of emergency works on Llanasa Road in Gronant.

Elsewhere, Carlton Avenue is due to be reopened on Friday following the conclusion of water utility works in the area, while temporary traffic lights on the A5119 in New Brighton will also be removed on the same day after work started on Monday.

A stop and go system will be brought in for two days on Fellows Lane in Caergwrle today for BT works before the same measure is used a day later on Halkyn Road in Flint for gas utility works by Wales and West that will also end on Friday.

On Thursday, work will also go for a day on Clayton Road, Mold, while temporary traffic lights will be placed on Liverpool Road in Buckley until January 13 for water works.

Short-term road works on the Ty Coch junction to the B5123, Black Brook in Sychdyn, and Stamford Way in Deeside all concluded on Tuesday, January 7.
