A WOMAN and a teenager have both been fined £75 for unleashing a volley of abuse at police officers arresting a man on a Holywell estate.

Sinead Dykins, 24, of Meadowbank, Holway, Holywell admitted threatening behaviour when she appeared before North East Wales Magistrates’ Court.

A 17-year-old youth also pleaded guilty to the same charge committed on September 20 this year.

Prosecutor Helen Hall said a crowd followed the two officers who were taking their suspect to a patrol car. The youth challenged one of the officers and swore at him several times.

Dykins was asked to move back as she was near the police vehicle, but responded by shouting “Don’t tell me to take my children home you XXX”.

The court was told that during the police operation a child had been pushed and Dykins had reacted badly.

She and the youth were also told to pay costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £32.

A MOLD man who picked up a bank card and used it to buy food has had his suspended prison sentence extended.

Paul Lewis, 39, of Maes y March admitted fraud by false representation on December 7 when he appeared before North East Wales Magistrates’ Court.

Lewis told police he had snapped the card and thrown it in a bin after using it at Tesco’s garage.

He told District Judge Gwyn Jones that he was had recently been scripted for methadone and was trying to turn his back on his previous offending.

The judge agreed to lift a curfew.

But a four-week suspended prison sentence imposed in November last year (2019) will now run for nine months.

Lewis was also fined £120 and billed for £85 costs.

A DRUG driver from Buckley has been banned from the road for a year.

Nigel Robert Jones, 49, of Jubilee Court admitted the charge from July 23.

Jones was stopped by police in Precinct Way in Buckley after his Vauxhall Corsa was seen braking heavily and appeared to be hiding his face with his baseball cap. A blood test showed a Benzoylecgonine reading of 780 when the legal limit is 50.

Gary Harvey, defending, said that Jones had been charged with other matters and had spent time in prison but the blood test result was released later.

Jones was also fined £120, plus £85 costs and a surcharge of £32.
