Over 25 fundraisers tested their limits by walking on fire and raised £7,165.64 for the Shooting Star Unit at Wrexham Maelor Hospital.

The group bravely undertook a number of personal challenges, including glass walking, breaking wood with their bare hands, snapping arrows with their necks and with an inspiring Fire Walk.

The Leader:

Tanya Jones, who led on organising the fundraising events, was diagnosed with stage three breast cancer last year and over the past 12 months has been treated by the Shooting Star Unit.

“I think it is important to break down personal barriers and show that you can do anything if you really put your mind to it”

“I wanted to organise something epic to give something back to the Shooting Star Unit because of their sheer kindness and unbelievable care.”

“We have all been touched by the loss of a loved one or treatment of a loved one with cancer so it’s our way of saying thank you and to raise money to help others.”

“I never imagined it would raise so much money! I am truly thankful to all those who took part, supported and donated.”

The Leader:

The event took place on December 1 at Maesgwyn Hall, Wrexham and was kindly hosted with the professional services of Honu Firewalks.
