BUCKLEY pupils have been spreading festive cheer this Christmas to those less fortunate.
This year Elfed students from years seven to eleven have been donating hundreds of items of tinned foods, biscuits, rice and pasta as well as toiletries to Flintshire Foodbank for the festive period.
Head of Year 9, Ms. Turner, who came up with the initiative said: "This year we wanted to do something charitable closer to home after years of supporting national and international charities.
"The students have responded so well and the school's generosity will massively benefit our wider community. I'm so proud of them."
The food parcels will be collected by the Flintshire Foodbank in time to be collected by local families, elderly residents and couples struggling with what looks to be a particularly cold Christmas.
If you need to access the Flintshire foodbank or wish to donate the drop off centre is located at St David’s Church Hall, St David’s Lane, Mold, CH7 1LH (next door to Homebase, and opposite the Job Centre and Farm Foods) and is open on Tuesdays and Fridays between 12.30pm and 2.30pm.
