A RUNNING club based in Flintshire will be holding their popular ‘Couch to 5k’ programme for a third consecutive year in a bid to build the confidence of aspiring runners.
The Deestriders Running Club will be restarting their free to join programme in the New Year.
That comes after 25 runners officially finished this year’s 10-week course by recently completing the 5km Chester parkrun, 12 of whom proceeded to re-join the club.
There are two sessions a week scheduled to take place over the duration of the course, with the first one of the new year taking place on January 7, 2020.
The sessions begin at 6pm at Corus in Shotton on Tuesday and Thursday nights, with a third session in the week for participants to complete in their own time with others or at a local parkrun.
Due to the time of year, participants in the running group will wear torches and run in a line to allow them to be easily seen by others.
For those who are interested in starting or resuming running through the ‘Couch to 5k’ programme, contact Nige Parr, the Deestriders Running Club secretary, on nigeparr@gmail.com.
