A COMPULSIVE shoplifter from Wrexham has been jailed after committing persistent breaches of two separate community orders.

Piotr Saturnin Sambor, 23, of Talbot Road, was subject to two community orders when he stole a Bluetooth speaker from the B&M store in Central Retail Park in the town centre on November 27. Sambor also faced a charge of failing to attend a hearing at Mold Magistrates Court on December 11.

Justin Espie, prosecuting, told the court how Sambor had entered the store at around 1pm and left soon afterwards with the speaker concealed under his clothing. However, the police were very quickly alerted to the theft and Sambor was picked up and the item was recovered.

Melissa Griffiths, defending, said how her client was essentially homeless due this previous drug misuse and the address provided to the court was that of his parents, whom were no longer speaking to him. She went on to say that Sambor had spent the last few weeks living in his friend’s garage and had stolen the speaker with the intention of selling it on to Cash Converters in order to buy food.

The bench decided to revoke both community orders and Sambor was sentenced to 10 weeks in custody. He must also pay a surcharge of £122.
