A BUCKLEY garage owner has reassured his customers that he isn't going anywhere after plans for new homes near his business were given the go-ahead.

The Leader reported recently how a planning application submitted to Flintshire Council requesting permission to build five detached homes in Liverpool Road was approved by planning officers.

A former car sales lot at Ewloe Hall Motors was listed on the application as the location of the proposed development, but the owner of the business - Ben Allonby - has said he wants to let customers know the scheme will not affect the running of his firm.

Mr Allonby said he was "bombarded" with messages and calls from concerned customers and supporters following the news of the planning approval, adding: "It is going to be on the car sales pitch next to us - we're safe. "We've had a big response on Facebook. I want to reassure people that I'm not going anywhere."

A design and access statement submitted with the homes plan explains: “The proposed dwellings have been carefully designed to respect the proportions and dimensions of the available plots, to reflect the proportions and orientation of the existing adjoining built development and also to take full account of the far reaching, woodland views to the west of the application in the interests of providing high levels of residential amenity.”
