AN ACTOR who grew up treading the boards with various local theatre companies has shown he is Dame for a laugh with his colourful new role.

Wrexham-born Andrew Rawlinson-Heath is no stranger to pantomime but this year will be donning some outrageous costumes, wigs and high heels as he takes the stage as “Nurse Kitty Litter” in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs at the Forum Studio Theatre in Chester.

The show, produced by Chester and Wrexham based theatre company Tip Top Productions, runs at the popular city venue until Saturday, January 4.

Andrew, 29, has appeared in Chester’s family friendly pantomimes for the last four years and roles have included the “back end” of Daisy the Cow in Jack and The Beanstalk, Tommy the Cat in Dick Whittington and most recently, The Slave of The Ring in Aladdin last year.

This year however, Andrew has been persuaded to make his debut as a pantomime dame by the show’s writer and director, Peter Swingler OBE.

Speaking about persuading Andrew to take on the role, Peter said “Andrew took a little bit cajoling but when I assured him that I would write the character of Nurse Kitty Litter to suit his unique comedy style he willingly agreed.

“Not only is the script tailor made but Andrew is absolutely rocking the costumes designed specially for him by Tip Top members Allan Forrest and Pippa Redmayne.
