A FUNDRAISER is being held in memory of an 'amazingly beautiful and talented' Wrexham woman who tragically took her own life.

Emma Lloyd, from Garden Village, was 38 when she took her own life in November 2018.

And mum Elaine Hughes is organising a fundraiser in her memory in aid of mental health charity MIND.

It will take place at St. Margaret's Church in Garden Village on Saturday, December 14 - the date of Emma's funeral a year ago.

The 'Christmas Crafternoon' - which will see a series of Christmas craft stalls on show - will run from 1.30pm, with proceeds going to MIND.

Emma was a support worker and extremely talented artist - and some of her paintings will be on show at the event.

Mrs Hughes said of her daughter: "She was just an amazingly beautiful and talented girl - everyone who knew her said that of her.

The Leader:

"As well as being a support worker, she was a talented fashion designer and went to study it university - but because of her illness she just couldn't hack it."

Mrs Hughes said her daughter suffered with mental illness for years prior to her death.

She added: "I just want there to be the support out there for people going through what Emma did - so people don't do what she felt was the only way.

"Nothing can come close to describing the pain we've felt as a family, so if we can do something to help MIND help other people suffering hopefully other families won't have to go through it."
