TWO Bangor 1876 squad members took time out of their schedule to bring some Christmas cheers to children at Ysbyty Gwynedd.

Striker Les Davies and defender Michael Johnston, together with assistant manager Dylan Williams, paid a visit to the Dewi Ward at Ysbyty Gwynedd prior to their 2-1 victory at title rivals Trearddur Bay Bulls on Saturday, December 7.

During their time at the site, the trio spent considerable time with children and also provided them with some festive gifts to keep their spirits up during a difficult time.

The presents also included some Bangor 1876 scarves that were generously donated by club supporter Liam Jones.

Skipper Johnston, who had a daughter forced into hospital treatment at just three months old, said: “We are a community club and the community has done so much for us, so it was lovely to give something back.

“Being in hospital with your children is a worry at any time of year, especially at Christmas.

“It was lovely to see smiling faces from children, families and the fantastic staff at the hospital and we would like to wish everyone a happy Christmas. I hope the people who are under the care of our fantastic NHS staff get well soon.”

This is the latest in a series of community activities associated with the new fan-owned club, who have made considerable strides on and off the pitch since their inception earlier this year.

They have yet to drop a point in the Gwynedd League and have also secured some notable successes against higher league opposition during a standout debut campaign to date.
