WREXHAM'S own West End wonder is returning home from the other side of the world for a one off Christmas concert.

Lydia Griffiths will join the James Lambert Singers for the festive show at the Seion Chapel, Methodist Hill, Froncysyllte, on December 17.

Lydia was the winner of Jonathan Ross’s Big Big Talent Show on ITV in 1997 and then went on to sing for the Queen and Prince Philip at the Royal Command Performance that same year.

Following a string of follow on engagements, Lydia then took the role of Cosette in the London cast of Les Miserables opposite S Club 7’s Jon Lee and then was invited back for the colossal 25th Anniversary Concert at the O2 Arena in 2010.

After touring the world with stage musicals and concerts, Lydia settled in Melbourne, Australia, where she has lived and worked as a singer and photographer for the last six years.

Last year, she joined the cast of Beyond the Barricade to packed houses in Hong Kong and regularly sings at events and concerts in Australia.

Lydia is looking forward to joining the James Lambert Singers at their Christmas concert.

"My parents have been members of the James Lambert Singers for many years so I’m thrilled to be joining them for a cosy Christmassy concert."

The concert, which starts at 7pm, promises to be a fun event with old and new songs, and plenty of Christmas favourites.
