A NORTH Wales Police sergeant is urging residents to remain vigilant as they see another rise in rogue traders.

Sergeant Gavin Gilmore, of the North Flintshire policing team, said: “We are asking people contact us if you see any suspicious behaviour or vehicles, we need this information, even if you don't think anything of it, it could help us prevent a crime happening to someone else.”

Sgt Gilmore told the Leader that officers in North Flintshire have had a Trading Standards day in recent weeks from Flintshire Council and have been out in the community making leaflet drops in areas with predominantly elderly residents in Bagillt and Connah’s Quay where victims have been targeted in the past.

He added: “We are asking for family members of these elderly people to come forward if they feel someone has, or may have, taken advantage of them.

Anyone with information or concerns can contact North Wales Police via 101 or the live webchat service.
