AN EMPLOYEE of a Flintshire business completed a half marathon on the way to compiling 1,600 miles for charity.

Andrew Baker, finance director of Mold-based P&A Group of Companies, completed the Conwy Half Marathon on Sunday (November 17) as part of his 1,600 mile run challenge for Hope House and Tŷ Gobaith children's hospices.

As if completing the half marathon wasn’t enough, he beat his previous course time and tackled the route in one hour 31.

This is his twelfth and final event of 2019, which has included marathons, half marathons, 10k runs, and hundreds of training miles.

The Leader:

Andrew has only 100 miles left to run, and says he couldn’t have done it without the support of everyone at The P&A Group.

He said: “What a great way to finish off my race schedule for the year.

"The support on the day was totally unexpected and gave me a real boost.

"I finished in 1.31.21 which was 1 minute faster than last year – 134th place out of 2,773 finishers”.

It’s not too late to donate to this amazing cause for the outstanding support and vital services that Hope House and Tŷ Gobaith give to children, young people, and their families.
