FLINTSHIRE Council has secured funding to carry out roadworks in Buckley this week resulting in closures.

The carriageway resurfacing and associated works at A549 Chester Road from its junction with Brook Street, will start on November 13.

The work is heavily weather dependent, however, all efforts will be made to complete the work on or before Wednesday, November 27.

To facilitate the works a road closure will be in place to ensure the safety of the workforce engaged in this operation, and the highway user.

Traffic will be diverted via the B5127 Liverpool Road, A55 to Dobshill roundabout and A549 Dirty Mile – all diversion routes will be clearly signed.

Access to individual properties and businesses will be maintained throughout the period of the contract although short delays may be encountered.

A spokesman for the council said: "Flintshire County Council and our contractor Roadway Civil Engineering Ltd apologise for any delay and disruption that may be caused as a consequence of this essential maintenance work and assures those affected that the work will be undertaken as quickly as possible."
