RESIDENTS across Flintshire turned out to honour the fallen on Remembrance Sunday.

A number of services and parades took place across the county on the day, including in Connah's Quay and Shotton where a service outside the Civic Hall in Connah's Quay was followed by a parade to the Connah’s Quay and Shotton War Memorial for a service and laying of poppy wreaths.

In Flint, members of the public gathered at the British Legion and walked to the Flint Cenotaph, which was followed by a parade around the town starting at Chapel Street and working its way through Duke Street, Chester Street and up Church Street.

A service of Remembrance was held at St. James Parish Church in Holywell, followed by a short service and wreath-laying at the Memorial Gates at Panton Place.

In Mold the Remembrance Sunday parade began at 9.30am through the town to St Mary's Church and arrived at the cenotaph.

And Hawarden Community Council organised the Remembrance Sunday Service at the Hawarden War Memorial on behalf of the Hawarden and Ewloe Royal British Legion.

A wreath of knitted poppies, created by members of Northop Hall WI, was laid at Northop Hall cenotaph.
