REPRESENTATIVES from Mold Golf Club have handed over thousands of pounds to the Nightingale House Hospice to conclude more than a year of fundraising and donations.

A cheque for £9,000 was presented to the specialist care provider based in Wrexham at Mold Golf Club’s annual dinner dance event on Saturday, October 26.

The team’s captains, Merv Davies and Jeanne Penn, handed the significant donation to Nightingale House’s Debbie Barton, following a speech that was made by Bert Moore – a guest speaker from Holywell Golf Club.

Over the past 18 months, Mold Golf Club have been a part of numerous fundraising events, including a charity auction night last April, which have helped to form the donation.

The money has also been culminated through various events organised by the Ladies Section, donations from the Captains’ Charity Bunkers, competitions, and sundry donations.

Speaking at the dinner dance event, team captain Merv Davies said: “Thank you to everybody at Mold Golf Club who has helped to make this presentation a reality through your own kind donations.

“The support given to this charity helps them to continue providing specialist care to local people and their families with life-threatening or life-limiting illnesses.”
