A SPECIAL event will be taking place at St Deiniol’s Church in Hawarden to pay tribute to the people of the Flintshire town for their involvement in the Second World War.
The ‘Memories of World War Two’ event will showcase the involvement the people of Hawarden and their relatives had in the world-wide conflict which took place between 1939 and 1945.
As part of the evening proceedings, there will be readings of the War poets and songs from the war by Welcomme, Finnan and Chrimes, with contributions from those involved.
Admission to the event – which will be held at 7.00pm on Saturday, November 16 – will cost £5, and will also entitle you to a glass of wine.
All proceeds from the evening will go to St Deiniol’s Church and the armed forces charity, SSAFA (Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association).
