A COASTGUARD team was called out to help a person who had fallen on a beach.

Flint Coastguard Rescue Team was tasked at 3.20pm on Monday by UK Coastguard along with Wirral Coastguard Rescue Team and Crosby Coastguard Rescue Team to assist North West Ambulance Service with a female who had fallen and required evacuation from a beach area near Tranmere, Wirral.

A spokesman for the team said: "En-route both Flint and Crosby Teams were stood down.

"This was due to Wirral Team being on scene and informing our operations room that Paramedics had successfully extracted the casualty with one of their vehicles."
