WITH just a few months to go before Christmas, a Flintshire town is launching its first festive market.

It has announced that Holywell will be getting a Christmas market for the first time with plenty of handmade gifts, food and drink already lined up.

A spokesman for Holywell Town Council said: “Holywell Town Council will be supporting the event by providing entertainment from the local schools, Popstarz, Glan Aber Singers and Paula Martine. We will also have various traditional stands such as hook a duck and Santa will be there on his float from 3pm. St John’s Holywell Division will as always be on hand to assist us.”

It has also been confirmed that Holywell Town Band will be closing the event at 5.45 pm.

Selected business on the town’s high street will remain open for late night shopping to fulfil any last-minute purchases in time for Christmas.

The market will take place on Thursday, December 19, from 9am until 6pm.

Stalls for the event are available from £10. Any interested traders should contact Peter Hayes from Flintshire County Council at peter.hayes@flitnshire.gov.uk or on 07919 166279.
