A FLINTSHIRE woman to 'give back' to charity rescue for saving her.

Kat Massey, of Connah's Quay, combined her business and her love of dogs in a bid to give back to Almost Home Dog Rescue.

The dog-lover launched a charity candle over the weekend, inspired by the rescue, and held an event at The Doghouse Coffee Shop in Wrexham.

She told the Leader: "We held an evening where we launched a charity candle for Almost Home Dog Rescue, so all profits made from this candle goes to the rescue towards the vet fees.

"I became a rescue mum about three years ago, I had never rescued before and Almost Home Dog Rescue supported me. Ever since then, not only have I rescued Coco but she has rescued me and I really feel I owe a lot to them.

"They are only a small charity and they get no funding so they rely on people like me to do what we can to help.

"If I can give back in any way at all."

Kat, along with Moments Candles, created a soothing candle that not only relieves stress and anxiety in humans, but also dogs.

She added: "I just thought how nice would a candle be. Not only is someone getting something really nice for themselves, they are giving to charity too.

"It's also safe to burn around dogs and can relieve anxiety, depression and stress in both humans and dogs.

"The evening went really well, we sold out and raised over £100 within an hour.

"I'd like to say a real thanks to the coffee shop, they are amazing and dogs can go in there off the lead, it's just amazing."
