HOLYWELL Mayor, Cllr Paul Johnson, held his Civic Sunday which was marked with a parade through the town.

Crowds including civic dignitaries from other neighbouring town councils, representatives from local organisations such as The Royal British Legion, Scout group, The Joan & Derby Club, The Holywell and District Society, Cymdeithas Thomas Pennant and family members all turned out to join Cllr Paul Johnson.

Following a greeting from Holywell Town Crier, Chris Baglin, the crowds were led by the Cambria Band from The Memorial Gates in Panton Place and paraded down to St.James’ Church for the service where the congregation were treated to performances by the Glan Aber Singers.

The guests were then invited to visit St.Winefride’s Well for a tour and light refreshments.

Looking back at the day, Cllr Johnson said he was thrilled with the end result.

He said: “I am proud to have so many people come along. Holywell is an amazing little town.”
