BANGOR ended their title-winning North Wales Cricket League Premier Division campaign with a resounding six-wicket home victory over Mochdre.

The newly crowned champions had too much firepower for their one time rivals for the crown during a one-sided affair, a result that leaves the all-conquering side on the summit and finishing 24 points clear of second placed Menai Bridge.

An uncharacteristically poor performance in the middle saw the away side skittled for just 86 from 37 overs, with wicketkeeper James French the only batsman to emerge from the innings with any credit thanks to a knock of 46.

Only Finlay Jones (12) and Sam Davies (11) managed to achieve double-digit scores from the rest of the order as Franco Kasner continuing his exceptional season with another spell of tremendous bowling.

The overseas star was in typically ruthless mood on his way to a five-wicket haul for the loss of 27 runs, and Chris Dawson was also in good form to record figures of 2-16 from a seven-over spell.

Gareth Goodson tried to make a fight of things with the early scalps of Welsh youth international Owen Reilly and Nadeem Rehman for two and 14, with Russ Boswell also getting in on the act with the prized wicket of David Winter for a duck.

Home opener Idrees Ijaz proved a far sterner proposition to remove and made 47 before he was eventually despatched by Sean Reilly, and an unbeaten 20 from Kasner ensured the hosts got over the line with minimal fuss for the loss of four wickets after 19 overs of play.
