TREARDDUR Bay Bulls’ perfect Gwynedd League record came to an end with a shock 1-0 defeat at Bontnewydd.

The all-conquering side dropped their first points of the season after a lacklustre display in front of goal, which sees their lead at the summit cut to eight points having played more games that their expected championship rivals.

A tense contest saw both sides spurn good opportunities during the opening hour, but the decisive moment arrived on 67 minutes when Morgan Roberts made no mistake with the finish after some impressive build up play.

The visitors tried valiantly in pursuit of a leveller but were unable to claim a share of the spoils against a determined Bont side who now find themselves in second spot.

Ogwen Tigers’ recent resurgence continued with a narrow 2-1 home success over Llanystumdwy, with goals either side of half time from Marc Wilson and Alex Griffiths doing the damage.

Three first period strikes from James Ryan (2) and Adam Roberts were enough to give Caergybi a 3-1 home win over Bethesda Athletic, with Jac Thomas, Rui Silva, Rhodri Davies and Gavin Davies trading efforts in Talysarn Celts’ 2-2 draw at Bro Goronwy.
