The annual Llanarmon Sheepdog Trials and Show took place at the weekend with competitors from all over the country taking part.

As well as the sheepdog trials, competitors of all ages showcased their sheep shearing skills.

Wrexham County Borough Councillor for Ceiriog Valley, Councillor Trevor Bates, attended the day.

He said: “Events like this one are great ways to showcase the work that is done by those working in the farming community.

“I think it’s also a very good way of educating non-farmers and those who are unfamiliar with the work they do.

“At the moment there is a big anti-meat-eating movement which can sometimes misinform people about the work done by farmers.

“Events like this help to inform those people properly about everything farmers do.

“On top of that, it’s another good way to bring people from far and wide to our area.

“It was great to see that it was well-attended again this year.

“Thanks to all who took part and came along to watch on the day.”
