LLANGEFNI Town manager Chris Roberts was pleased with the response from his side in their 2-2 home draw with Buckley Town.

The newly promoted JD Cymru North outfit produced a much-improved display following their heavy loss at Conwy Borough to get their season back on track, and Cefni face two relatively local fixtures this week as they travel to Porthmadog on Tuesday before welcoming unbeaten Bangor City on Friday.

Roberts, said: “I got the reaction I was looking for from the lads, we stepped up a gear in the second half battled well and deserved the point.

“Now the aim is all about recovery and getting ready for another massive week for the club.”

The home side made a strong start to the contest and went ahead after just ten minutes when a neat passage of play presented a chance to Iwan Jones, who remained composed to put them ahead during the opening stages of the clash.

This was met by a strong response from the in-form visitors, who upped the tempo and got back on level terms in fortunate fashion on 32 minutes when Craig Roberts diverted a delivery into his own net.

Things went from bad to worse for the hosts after the interval when prolific striker Adam Eden made the most of the space he found himself in to steer past Tyler French and give the away side the advantage for the first time a minute after the hour mark.

Credit to the home side, they remained resolute despite their disadvantage and got their reward immediately following the restart when livewire forward Matthew Jones continued his exceptional start to the campaign with a well-taken effort on 63 minutes to ensure both sides had something to show from an entertaining affair at Talwrn Road.
