RHYL FC’s Eddie Maurice-Jones has been acknowledged for his side’s impressive start to the season with an award shortlisting.

The talented young boss has led his title hopefuls to three victories in their opening four games, which include a pivotal derby success over Prestatyn Town and an eye-catching opening day triumph at Flint Town United.

The Lilies’ also managed to overcome a spirited Llangefni Town outfit at the Educate Group Stadium, and their impressive opening to the campaign sees Maurice-Jones up for the JD Cymru North Manager of the Month Award for August.

Former Rhyl manager Niall McGuinness has also been nominated for the award, with the Silkmen overcoming their loss to the Lilywhites by racking up three straight victories to lay the foundations for their expected title challenge.

McGuinness was a narrow winner of the public vote on social media site Twitter, narrowly pipping Maurice-Jones and Prestatyn manager Neil Gibson, who is also on the shortlist after seeing his side win their first three games to top the table on goal difference.

The Football Association of Wales will decide the overall winner in the coming days.
