INFORMATION on a range of funding schemes are to be made available to the public at a forthcoming event.

The drop-in 'meet the funder' event aims to inform people looking for grants for community activities and will take place on September 19 at Holywell Town Council.

At the event, which runs from 10.30am to 3pm, attendees will be able to find out about the National Lottery Community Fund.

This scheme includes awards for all Wales - a simple small grants programme making awards of between £300 and £10,000 - and people and places – larger grants which aim to bring people together to make communities stronger and improve rural or urban environments.

There will also be information about the Comic Relief Community Fund in Wales which offers small grants from £1,000 to £10,000 for projects carrying out community led working to tackle a specific need or issue within their locality.

The Comic Relief fund also offers organisational growth grants from £30,000 to £60,000 for activity to make a strategic impact and increase their resilience.

All projects under this scheme should fit within Comic Relief’s strategic themes - children survive and thrive, mental health, gender equality and a safe place to be.

Flintshire Local Voluntary Council will also be sharing information about funding a governance support, Flintshire Community Chest and other local grants.

Members of the public are being encouraged to drop in and there is no need to book a place.
