A DEESIDE woman aims to raise as much money as possible for a cause close to her heart.

Lynne Chick, of Connah's Quay, is asking members of the public to donate whatever they can to her 'birthday fundraiser' for the James Bulger Memorial Trust.

Last year, the Leader reported that Ms Chick raised over £400 for Alder Hey and now this year, she wants to give back to another charity that is close to her heart.

She said: "In five hours of setting up the fundraising page I raised £140 I cant believe it.

"My target is £150 but I hope to raise as much as possible. I'm so overwhelmed

"This year my chosen charity is James Bulger memorial trust, I hope to smash my target of £150 as I did last year. There are some absolutely fabulous kind people around."

James Bulger's life was taken at the age of two after he was abducted in February 1993 in Liverpool.

On what would have been his 21st birthday, mum Denise set up the charity in a bid to support young people who are disadvantaged by reason of having become part of bereavement, a victim of crime, hatred or bullying.

Anyone wishing to donate can do so via Lynne Chick's Facebook Page.
