THE owner of a Flintshire pet store has unveiled plans to move to a larger premises nearby.

Victoria Clay, who runs Pups and Pets in Dobshill, is looking to relocate to the former TTS Service and Repair Centre, which sits next door to her current base.

She is also looking to transform the existing store on Chester Road into a pet friendly coffee shop in a bid to expand her business.

The proposals were revealed after an application was put forward to Flintshire Council.

In documents submitted to the local authority, Miss Clay said her customers had already expressed strong support for the scheme.

She said: “As the building is larger than my current unit, I propose to move the pet shop next door and start a new addition to my business in my current unit and change this to a pet friendly coffee shop.

“The unit I wish to take on additionally is currently vacant and was formerly known as TTS.

“The majority of our existing customers are from the local community.

“Our regular customers are extremely supportive about our plans to include a dog friendly coffee shop as many bring their pets with them to our pet shop, and view this as an extension of the service we already provide.”

Comments are currently being invited on the application via the Flintshire Council website.

The authority is aiming to decide on the proposals by the end of September.
