A BAKERY whose factory was engulfed in fire earlier this week have thanked various fire services and given out free goods.

The fire, which took place at the Village Bakery on Monday August 19, has caused ‘severe’ damage to the production area and upper floors of an office block.

The cause of the fire is still currently unknown, but it is believed to have started in building's production area.

One crew has remained on site today and are still checking the building for hot spots.

The bakery has now rewarded North Wales, Shropshire and Cheshire fire services and delivered free bread to the Wrexham station.

The Village Bakery tweeted: “We are so grateful for the help and support we have received since our fire on Monday, especially from @NorthWalesFire @shropsfire and @CheshireFire who are still at the site today.

“This morning we dropped off some goodies for the fire fighters at Wrexham Fire Station to enjoy.”

A spokesperson for North Wale Fire and Rescue has said: “One crew is still at the scene of the incident and is expected to be there for a few more hours.

“They are monitoring the building for hot spots.”
