RESIDENTS have been asked to take part in their town's heritage and future plans.

Enbarr Foundation is asking the local community for any pictures of the buildings, gardens or grounds at Shotton Point and around the John Summers Clock Tower.

The non-profit organisation has a vision to renovate the beautiful John Summers Clock Tower in Sealand, restoring it to its former glory and developing it into a community space for future generations to enjoy and discover their heritage.

Vicki Roskams, Engagement Manager Enbarr Foundation said: "We are determined to reinstate as much of the architecture and design as possible and to have access to pictorial evidence would be an enormous help.

"Unfortunately, due to continued vandalism in the building we are losing architectural elements.

"We have installed cameras and have access to photographs of individuals, but we would much prefer if these people would support us and their community instead of causing further damage.

"We are calling on the community to please be extra vigilant."

As the project team are moving towards the planning stage, they would appreciate any access to old photos so that when they are redesigning the architecture for the buildings and gardens they can emulate the true designs as much as possible to help bring Shotton Point back to life.

As part of the request and as a thank you to the local community for their continued support Enbarr Foundation has teamed up with Flintshire Pictures to offer someone the opportunity to an ‘all access’ guided tour of the building and its grounds in their current state.

To enter the competition all you have to do is submit a picture or pictures, the older the better, of the John Summers Building, either inside or outside of its grounds, onto the

Flintshire Pictures Facebook page

.

Vickie added: "Looking to the future, we would like to thank Flintshire Pictures for their support, and we are excited to see the photos posted.

"Remember, if you would like the chance to walk around the building and its grounds, ask your family members to see if they have any old pictures that you could post; search through those old photo boxes in your attic.

“"As work progresses on-site, we will also be requesting volunteers to support us going forward. From painting and carpentry to gardening and planning events we need your skills. If you have any time to spare, please email volunteer@enbarrenterprises.com to register your interest.”"
