A NO DEAL Brexit would have a damaging affect for one of Flintshire’s biggest employers, according to Labour party leader Jeremy Corbyn.
Speaking to the Leader’s sister paper the County Times, at the Centre for Alternative Technology in Machynlleth, leader of the opposition Mr Corbyn, said Airbus in Broughton would be one of the businesses “badly affected” in North Wales should the UK leave to European Union with no deal in place.
He said: “We will do everything we can to prevent a ‘no deal’ Brexit that would be damaging to the agricultural and farming community in Wales and would also do a lot of damage to industry in Wales.
“I’m thinking of Ford in Bridgend and Airbus in the north.
“All of them would be badly affected by a ‘no deal’ Brexit.”
Mr Corbyn added that he is still seeking support from other opposition parties in a bid to prevent the Conservative Government from taking the UK out of the EU without a deal on October 31.
“The key thing is to be united together to oppose a ‘no deal’ Brexit he said.
“Therefore I will be proposing a motion of no confidence in this government and will invite all opposition parties to support that motion of no confidence to prevent a ‘no deal’ Brexit from the European Union on October 31.”
