FOOTBALL mania will be heading to Wrexham this summer thanks to a well-known restaurant.

The Fun Football Festival, which is a project created by McDonald's, has partnered with the UK Football Associations, to give children aged between 5 and 11 the opportunity to play football for the first time.

The event will kick-off on August 25 and is being hosted by Brymbo Lodge Youth Football Club at the Brymbo Sports and Social Complex between the hours of 9.30am and 5pm.

The day promises to be fun for the whole family and will see a wide range of activities to keep youngsters entertained, including inflatable games, face painting and introductory sessions with expert coaches.

The Leader:

Designed by FA coaches, the event is the perfect tool to get children more active outdoors during the summer holidays.

Kieran Howard, coach at Brymbo Lodge YFC, expressed his delight at hosting this 'fantastic' tournament alongside the club's annual tournament.

He said: "We have our mini tournament which will see nearly 500 children participate in throughout the day.

"This is huge for us as it showcases what a great grassroots football club we are.

"We were also the regional club of the year and silver accredited but the event will show off the Wrexham league and Welsh football as a whole.

"We've also been fortunate to win a national showcase day with the Football Association of Wales and McDonald's.

"This will see large inflatables and fun activities run alongside our tournament setting up a fantastic day for not just football lovers but the whole family.

"We are hoping that the day attracts a lot of attention in the area and is a huge success for the club and community."
