A TEENAGER charged with the manslaughter of Marchwiel father of four Philip James Long has been remanded in custody.
Matthew Curtis, 18, of Fairwood Drive, Gwersyllt appeared at North East Wales Magistrates' Court this morning (Tuesday) charged with unlawfully killing Mr Long.
The teenager, who was wearing a blue tracksuit top, spoke only to provide his date of birth and his address before his solicitor Patrick Geddes made an application for bail.
Mr Long, 36, died at the Royal Stoke Hospital. He was found unconscious on College Street in Wrexham at 1.30am on Sunday.
Mr Geddes indicated that Curtis would be pleading not guilty at Mold Crown Court where District Judge Gwyn Jones committed the case for a pre-trial hearing on September 6.
The district judge turned down a bail application and remanded the teenager to Altcourse Prison.
